Question by ptevonian: Covering bathroom wall tiles with panelling? I have hideous 4.25″ ceramic wall tiles from the floor to 4′ higher about my bathroom. I want them gone, but I’m not psyched about the expense, mess and effort of removing them all and retiling. Here’s my program: Mount a 1×4″ horizontally, flat against the best row of tiles. Then add 1×2″ mounting strips horizontally across the surface of the tiles, in the middle and along the floor. Then nail panelling to the strips, and mount another 1×4″ flat on the top rated as a sort of gallery shelf/trim piece. If properly sealed and painted with an appropriate bathoom paint, is there any explanation this would not work, or should not be accomplished? My principal concern is how thick the complete software would finish up being, given that the tiles themselves seem to be attached to 1/two” cement board placed against the authentic plaster walls. With the cement board, tiles, mounting strips and paneling, it would be ~ two.5″ from the surface of the panel to the surface of the wall. Any thoughts on this approach?

Wow!! I would Never ever place paneling in a bathroom.. too much moisture. I can guarantee you will have absolutely nothing but issues down the line.. If you do not like the tile, I would strongly advocate getting rid of it(the tile) and retiling with a tile that pleases you. I would believe that in the prolonged run, it would prove to be less costly anyway./// … Advocate you give that some excellent believed.. Also.. do as I do when I have a question abut factors like that or any DIY, go to Home Depot or Lowe’s and speak with a person WHO Is aware of there for some ideas.

Query by Julia: Bathroom walls? What is the finest way to fix water harm to bathroom walls? You know, exactly where there is cracking and paint hasn’t come off, but it just seems awful. How really should I eliminate old, cracked region?
Very best solution:Solution by infant_girl_1219
I guess it would rely on what kind of materials your bathroom walls are produced of. Ours have been doing that since they had the incorrect kind of paint and were created with the wrong sort of sheetrock, so we ripped them out.

Query by : In which to find bathroom storage units? Hi!
My aunt was telling me about a thing known as a “Johnny Pole”, two metal poles that go on each side of your toilet and then shelving units above it, as a sort of storage.
I reside in Winnipeg, Canada and was just asking yourself which stores market them?
Really should I try Jysk and Home Outfitters?
Or does a person know in which they offer them?
Thankyou!

I haven’t noticed them in a prolonged time but I’d search at your local home constructing centers.
