I am organizing to develop a bamboo/cane-shade in my roof garden (or instead pay out somebody to to it
I am searching for ideas… I’d like the shade to cover only component of the roof area to supply shade in summer (summers in Malta can be very hot!). The shade has to stand strong wind, sun and rain and be aesthetically pleasing. Any style suggestions?A lot of thanks,

make confident you use a clumping bamboo. these will develop thick in patches. so plant a few along a long container. clumping will develop into a thick display but with restricted spread. so plant a couple clumps to make your display.also I do not know what sort of location you will be planting in so I am assuming its not all grassy but rather container plants. Just so you know bamboo is very invasive and will spread like wildfire into other places if not confined. it spreads via root system. thats why a single container is greatest.
