make confident you use a clumping bamboo. these will develop thick in patches. so plant a few along a long container. clumping will develop into a thick display but with restricted spread. so plant a couple clumps to make your display.also I do not know what sort of location you will be planting in so I am assuming its not all grassy but rather container plants. Just so you know bamboo is very invasive and will spread like wildfire into other places if not confined. it spreads via root system. thats why a single container is greatest.
